AZURE OPEN SOURCE DAY – INDIA Tour
Azure Open Source Day Delhi was a part of Microsoft Azure Open Source India Tour, which took place on 22 March 2023 at Maharaja Agrasen Institute Of Technology. The event aimed to celebrate developers in open source and promote a better understanding of the community through interactive workshops. It was organized by Shitiz Aggarwal and Gaurav Chapliyal under the supervision of faculty coordinators Ms. Garima Gupta, Dr. Ankita Gupta and Head of computer science department Dr. Namita Gupta.
The main objective of the event was to pave the way for the next generation of contributors and promote a better understanding of open source through interactive and engaging workshops. The event covered a range of topics related to open source, including its importance, Microsoft microservices, industry trends, and brand building. Participants of all skill levels were welcome.
During the workshop participants interacted with peers and experienced mentors to learn All-About-Open-Source and level up their skills in open source. The event included two main speakers, Mr. Jatin Bhalla and Ms. Nirupama Singh. Mr. Bhalla is a Sr. Analyst DevOps Service at Coforge, and he spoke about cloud, virtual machines, DevOps, and Azure services. Ms. Nirupama Singh, who is a Sr. Developer at Reskilll, spoke about the benefits of open source, how students can contribute to it, and how to use it in their career.
The event was highly beneficial for students and helped them learn about the importance of open source, how to contribute to open source, and how to use open source in their career. The event also provided students with an opportunity to learn about cloud, virtual machines, DevOps, and Azure services, which are critical skills in today's industry. The event helped students build their brand and network socially and professionally.
The event concluded with gifts and swags being distributed to participants. The Azure Open Source Day Delhi event was a massive success and helped students learn about open source, network with their peers and experienced mentors, and build their skills in critical areas such as cloud, virtual machines, DevOps, and Azure services. The event was a significant contribution to the open-source community and helped pave the way for the next generation of contributors.

Visit to Innovation and Incubation Centre, GGSIPU on 15 March 2023
25 Students of Department of Computer Science & Engineering and Department of Computer Science & Technology, MAIT along with Faculty members: Prof. Namita Gupta ( HoD,CSE and President IIC-MAIT), Mr. Ashish Sharma, Ms. Savita Sharma and Ms. Ruchi Goel visited Innovation and Incubation centre of GGSIPU on 15 March 2023.
Prof. Amit Prakash Singh, Director-IPU Innovation & Incubation Foundation, GGSIPU explained in detail about I2C ,GGSIPU set up to promote innovation and entrepreneurship among the Faculty, Staff, Research Scholars, Students of GGSIPU and startup from vicinity. He explained to students and faculties about various facilities and support that Innovation & Incubation centre of GGSIPU provide to all the students.
He stressed Innovation and Incubation centre at GGSIPU primarily aim at promoting economic development of the country by supporting start-up companies. He added India needs young graduates with creative thinking to develop and manufacture new products to address the challenges faced by the industry and society. In order to mould the students to the expectations of the government, educational institutes need to start the innovation and incubation centres.
The Innovation and Incubation Centre at GGSIPU discusses the technical and financial viability of any idea that a student comes up with. If found viable, the Centre nurtures the idea and facilitates the technology for it. The idea is then presented to an expert team and industry professionals to turn it into a successful small-scale business with the potential to grow bigger.
Prof. Amit Prakash Interacted with every student and faculty members and explained ,In order to implement a new Idea , students must be equipped with all the cognitive levels of learning, the students must be given open ended experiments in laboratories which are design/algorithm based, they should be encouraged with the multi discipline research projects in every area of technology such as internet of things, big data analysis,robotics and cyber security .
Department of Computer Science and Engineering and Department of Computer Science and Technology, MAIT organised a seminar on “Cyber Security and IPv6” in collaboration with National Internet Exchange of India (NIXI) on 21st March, 2023.The Speaker ,Mr. Deepanshu from NIXI discussed IPV6, its security challenges associated with deployment, security threats, more prevalent in IPv6 networks. The event also included a live demonstration of an IPv6 attack, where the speaker demonstrated how an attacker can exploit the vulnerabilities in an IPv6 network to gain unauthorized access. The attendees gained a better understanding of the security threats and best practices for securing IPv6 networks, which will help them in their future endeavors in the field of cyber security. The event concluded with the Vote of Thanks by Prof.Namita Gupta ( HOD -CSE ) followed by the certificate distribution to the attendees. Event was coordinated by faculty members: Mr. Ashish Sharma, Mr. Yogesh Sharma, Dr. Sandeep Tayal and Ms. Savita Sharma.
A seminar on “latest Trends in Computer Science and Communication” was conducted by Department of Computer Science and Engineering in collaboration with IEEE ComSoc on 16th March 2023 at 11:00 AM in 131-132 Lab of CSE Department. The speaker of session were Mr. Abhinav Kansal, Chief Cloud Architect from Velocity Clinical Research , Mr. Himanshu Gaur, Managing Partner, Exergy Solutions and Dr. Ashish Khanna , Associate Professor, CSE Department. Prof. Neelam Sharma, Director, MAIT motivated students to get updated about latest trends in technology. Prof. Namita Gupta, HOD, CSE explained the importance of research in the academics to students, she stressed upon writing research papers and be innovative in implementing ideas. Event was coordinated by faculty members, Mr Ashish Sharma and Ms. Ruchi Goel. The session was very informative and interactive.More than 100 students and faculty members attended the event.
