Inauguration of ‘Grand Finale of Toycathon-2021’
Toycathon 2021 is one of the biggest hackathon for developing toys based on Indian Ethos. Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Technology is proud of hosting the digital version as the nodal center for 12 teams across India.
The hackathon is going to be conducted in online mode from 22-24 June 2021. The participating teams will design various toys for different age groups.
During the Institute level inauguration, Director MAIT – Prof Neelam Sharma encouraged the participating teams and briefed about the Institute achievements and how hackathons help the innovative young minds to showcase and improve their skills. NC SPOC Prof Namita Gupta introduced the organising team members and explained the evaluation process to the participating teams. Local inauguration was followed by National inauguration who was Broadcasted live on YouTube by MHRD Innovation Cell.

Smart India Internal Hackathon 2020 organized by CSE Department
- 4th edition of highly successful Smart India Hackathon initiative
- Involves 2 Lakh+ students with 57,000+ ideas from 2200+ institutions against 530+ problem statements provided by 120+ organizations from across India
- Students across India compete creatively to solve problems of Ministries, Departments and Industries to give solutions
Themes of the Problem Statements (PSs) includes: • Agriculture & Rural Development • Clean Water • Robotics and Drones • Smart Communication • Smart Vehicles • Food Processing • Waste Management • Healthcare & Biomedical devices • Renewable energy • Security & Surveillance
Total (5+2) teams for Software edition and (2+2) teams for Hardware edition from each Institute can participate in the final Hackathon to be conducted in month of April and July respectively. SIH2020 Hardware and Software edition, Internal Hackathon was conducted by Department of Computer Science and Engineering on 17 Jan 2020 and 21 Jan 2020 to shortlist the final MAIT teams among the total 110 teams which participated for software edition and 19 teams which participated for hardware edition. Prof Pravin Chandra and Prof Udyan Ghosh (USIT, GGSIPU) were the judges for the event. Students showed their prototypes during the Internal Hackathon.

2019
Winners of Software Edition of Smart India Hackathon 2019
MHRD, AICTE, i4c and Persistent Systems have come together to organise Smart India Hackathon (SIH) 2019 - a unique Open Innovation Model for identifying new and disruptive technology innovations to solve the challenges faced in our country.
Total 20 teams from MAIT were shortlisted for the finale under SIH 2019 Software edition held on 2-3 March 2019. MAIT is ranked third Institute with most team selection in Software edition of SIH 19. As per the result declared by SIH 19, 8 teams of MAIT won prize of Rs One Lac under the Ministry/Organization for their Problem Statement and one team won Special award (Runner up).

First prize of Rs one lakh under Ministry of Information and Broadcasting
B.Tech Students of MAIT won first prize at Smart India Hackathon (SIH18) under Ministry of Information and Broadcasting for the problem - Social Media Sentiment Analysis at the 36 hours grand finale held on 30-31 March at JCERC University, Jaipur nodal centre. Team Linguistic Pandas has total 6 student team members from different disciplines of engineering - Abhishek Popli-Team Leader (CSE), Vasu Gupta (IT), Saurabh Vyas (IT), Varunika Gupta (IT), Aayush Bajaj (IT), Deepak Jindal (CSE).
Students proposed a system that will scrap the social media handles to fetch authorized information and then analyze to understand feedback and sentiments of people who are reacting to it. After analysis, system will generate: Summary of the reactions (comments/tweets), Result as Positive, Neutral or Negative, and Data Insights and Graphs.
Students were presented trophy and cash prize of Rs One lakh by Col. Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Youth Affairs and Sports. A matching award of Rs One lakh was given by MATES Management committee to the winning team.

Innovation award of Rs 10,000 under Ministry of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation
B.Tech Computer Science Second year Students of MAIT won Innovation award at Smart India Hackathon (SIH18) under Ministry of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation for the problem -
APPLICATION FOR REPORTING ENCROACHMENT, POLLUTION OR REQUIREMENT OF RRR FOR WATER BODIES at the 36 hours grand finale held on 30-31 March at PSIT, Kanpur. Team Update 1.0 has total 6 student team members from second year CSE branch - Paras Rawat (Team Leader), Mayuri Gupta, Piyush Gupta, Yash Aggarwal, Mohit Soni, Akanksha Sood.

AICTE under aegis of MHRD and in collaboration with i4C, Persistent Systems Ltd., UGC, NASSCOM, Rambhau Prabhodini Mhalgi, SumaSoft Pvt. Ltd, Deloitte, ACM India, NIC, and MyGov launched Smart India Hackathon 2017 on Nov 9, 2016 at the hands of Shri. Prakash Javadekar, Hon‟ble Minister of HRD, Government of India and Chief Patron, Smart India Hackathon 2017. This initiative aims to build Digital India and to engage the youth of the nation directly with nation building.
For the enhancement of the quality of technical education, Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Technology registered for Smart India Hackathon 2017 contest for students under the guidance of Prof M L Goyal (Director General). Dr Namita Gupta, HOD (CSE) had been appointed as AICTE -College SPOC (AICTE-College Single Point Of Contact) to share AICTE related various schemes with Institute students and faculty members. Students of all B.Tech disciplines were motivated to participate in the contest. For students guidance, coordinators from each Department were nominated: Dr Bhoomi Gupta (IT), Dr Ashish Khanna (CSE), Mr Hemant Tulsani (ECE), Mr Sheersh Garg (EEE) and Mr R.C. Saini (MAE).
For the 598 problems posted by government departments, the ideas were received from 7531 teams (each team comprising of 6 students and 2 mentors) with approximately 42,000+ participants from more than 2100 colleges across India. Of these 7531 teams, 1266 teams (around 10,000 participants) were shortlisted for Grand Finale on April 01-02, 2017. The Grand Finale of Smart India Hackathon 2017 was organized, simultaneously across 26 different cities.
Total 12 teams from MAIT participated in Smart India Hackathon 2017 and 6 teams were shortlisted for the Grand finale – 3 teams under AICTE, one team each under ICMR, ISRO, DAE.
Team Extrapolate won first prize of Rs 1 lakh under AICTE. Members of the team are Somin Wadhwa, Raunaq Jain, Prashasti Gupta, Akshay Sharma, Aviral Gupta and Dhruv Kuchhal.
Extrapolate team worked on the Problem Statement - Prediction of Admission & Jobs in Engineering & Technology /Management/Pharmacy with respect to demographic locations.
Another team CML2.0 won a Deloitte Innovation Award prize of Rs 10,000 under Indian Council of Medical Research. Members of the team are Samraj Agarwal, Deepanshi Bansal, Punya Aachman, Sankalp Sharma, Tamal Dey and Aman Mittal.
CML2.0 team worked on the Problem Statement - Creating Games for prevention of Dengue and Chikunguniya.
