Webinar on “Playing with AI Fundamentals”

 

TechCom, the official technical society of the Department of Computer Science & Engineering, MAIT, successfully organized a webinar titled "Playing with AI Fundamentals" on 15 February 2025 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. The event had 30+ enthusiastic participants.

The speaker for the webinar was Dr. Ravi Prakash, a distinguished Professor at KCCEMSR Mumbai, an esteemed member of the MC Computer Society of India (Mumbai Chapter), and an AI & Research Expert under the NMEICT, Govt. of India Initiative. With his vast expertise, Dr. Ravi Prakash guided attendees with valuable insights into AI fundamentals, discussing its real-world applications, evolving trends, and career opportunities in the field. He emphasized the importance of AI in automation, data analysis, and decision-making processes, offering practical strategies for students to strengthen their AI skills.

One of the most impactful takeaways from the session was Dr. Ravi Prakash’s statement: "The person who has data is not the king, but the one who can process it." This line deeply resonated with attendees, highlighting the crucial role of data processing and analysis in today’s technology-driven world.

Attendees actively participated in an engaging Q&A session, gaining clarity on various aspects of AI and its impact on modern technology. The session fostered a collaborative learning environment where students not only absorbed knowledge but also discussed their perspectives on AI advancements.

The event concluded with an interactive game. In the game, the speaker presented a set of jumbled words related to AI and asked the participants to rearrange them correctly. This added a fun and challenging element, making the session even more engaging and truly memorable. After a close contest, two winners emerged, each receiving a special prize in recognition of their quick thinking and deep understanding. The smooth and engaging hosting by TechCom student coordinators contributed to the event's success, ensuring an interactive and well-structured session. The winners of the game were Gautam Jha, 6th Sem, CSE, and Ujjwal Gupta, 6th Sem, CSE.

This webinar marked yet another step toward TechCom’s mission to equip students with industry-relevant skills. The event was a great success under the guidance of Prof. Namita Gupta(HOD, CSE), Ms. Kavita Saxena(Assistant Professor, CSE), Ms. Deepti Gupta(Assistant Professor, CSE) and Ms. Karuna Middha(Assistant Professor, CSE). The hardworking efforts Gautam Jha, Ujjwal Gupta , Aviral and TechCom team made to event reach great heights.
