Faculty Development Program (FDP) on "Generative AI and Smart Intelligent Systems for Multidisciplinary Engineering Applications" from July 20–25, 2026

The Department of Computer Science & Engineering, Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Technology (MAIT), successfully organized a One-Week Faculty Development Program (FDP) on "Generative AI and Smart Intelligent Systems for Multidisciplinary Engineering Applications" from July 20–25, 2026.The inaugural session was graced by Shri Rajnish Kumar Gupta, Joint General Secretary, MATES; Prof. (Dr.) Vikram Bali, Director, MAIT; Prof. S. S. Deswal, Dean, MAIT; Prof. Harbhajan Bansal, Dean, Management; Prof. (Dr.) Sachin Gupta, Dean (Research & Innovation); and Dr. Bhoomi Gupta, Head, Department of Computer Science & Engineering. The FDP witnessed 112 registrations, comprising 68 internal participants from MAIT and 44 external participants from universities, engineering colleges, polytechnics, and other academic institutions across India, including one international participant from Vilnius Gediminas Technical University, Lithuania. Day 1 commenced with an inspiring inaugural session by Prof. (Dr.) Neha Chaudhary, Head, Department of Computer Science & Engineering, Manipal University Jaipur, on "Generative AI for Research and Academic Productivity." On Day 2, Mr. Rajat Jain, Software Engineer, Microsoft, delivered an insightful session on cost optimization techniques for LLM-based applications. Day 3 featured Mr. Abhishek Popli, Senior AI Platform Engineer (SDE3), Oracle Cloud Services, who explored Agentic AI, Multi-Agent Systems, and autonomous code review using CrewAI. Day 4 included sessions by Mr. Harsh Mangal, Senior Vice President, NatWest Group, on Agentic AI in Banking, and Prof. Neelam Duhan, J.C. Bose University of Science and Technology, YMCA, on Prompt Engineering in Education. Day 5 showcased expert talks by Mr. Pankaj Sharma and Mr. Ishant Kumar from Microsoft on building intelligent AI agents and Generative AI for Smart Engineering Applications. The FDP concluded on Day 6 with an enriching industry visit to Microsoft Gurugram, where participants explored advanced AI tools such as Gemini, Claude, and NotebookLM through interactive sessions by Mr. Siddharth Chopra, Co-founder, YouTube Media, and Mr. Sarthak Jain, Microsoft MVP. The week-long FDP successfully strengthened participants' AI competencies while fostering innovation and academia–industry collaboration.

The successful organization of the FDP was made possible through the dedicated efforts of the Convenors—Dr. Bhoomi Gupta, Head, Department of Computer Science & Engineering; Dr. Sudha Narang, Associate Professor, CSE; Ms. Kavita Saxena, Assistant Professor, CSE; Ms. Deepti Gupta, Assistant Professor, CSE; and Dr. Neetu Garg, Assistant Professor, CSE, MAIT—whose meticulous planning, coordination, and commitment ensured the seamless execution and grand success of the program. Their collective efforts, along with the support of the organizing team and faculty members, contributed significantly to making the FDP a highly enriching and memorable learning experience for all participants.
