CyberSec: Deep Dive into Cybersecurity
The Department of Computer Science & Engineering, MAIT, in collaboration with Microsoft Azure Developer Community and Reskilll, organized a webinar on cybersecurity, “CyberSec: Deep Dive into Cybersecurity!” on 7 February 2025. The session was headed by Mr. Jatin Jain, a cybersecurity expert with over 17 years of experience, and focused on raising awareness about cyber threats and network protection. With 70+ registrations the webinar witnessed an enthusiastic active participation of 60 students, who gained valuable insights from an industry expert, stayed updated on the latest trends, and had the opportunity to network with like-minded individuals. The session reinforced that cybersecurity is not just about technology—it’s about people, awareness, and proactive protection. Mr. Jatin Jain provided insights into major cyber threats and frauds, including phishing attacks, malware, ransomware, social engineering, denial-of-service (DoS) attacks, identity theft, online shopping scams, and banking fraud. He emphasized the importance of strong passwords, multi-factor authentication (MFA), regular software updates, and safe browsing practices to enhance both personal and organizational cybersecurity. The interactive session encouraged participants to ask questions and discuss real-world cybersecurity challenges. Mr. Jatin Jain shared practical solutions, case studies, and preventive strategies, making the webinar highly engaging and informative. It fostered stronger connections between MAIT students and industry leaders, ensuring that future engineers are well-equipped to tackle upcoming challenges.
This event was a great success under the invaluable guidance and support of Prof. Namita Gupta, HoD CSE, MAIT, Ms. Kavita Saxena (Assistant Professor, CSE, MAIT), Ms. Deepti Gupta (Assistant Professor, CSE, MAIT), and Ms. Zameer Fatima (Assistant Professor, CSE, MAIT). The dedication and efforts of the student coordinators from 3rd year CSE, MAIT, Himanshi, Aviral, and Gautam played a crucial role in the seamless organization and execution of the event.
