TechCom Technical Society Virtual Orientation for the freshers on March 2, 2021

This past year has witnessed an extraordinary stride in virtual learning. Even though most students have gotten used to it, it still was quite an overwhelming ride for our freshers who entered their college life amidst the ongoing uncertainty. To make their journey a bit smoother, TechCom, the official technical society of CSE department, MAIT successfully organized a virtual orientation for the freshers on March 2, 2021. Tanya Goel and Pavitra Walia hosted the orientation session. Over 50 students from the institute attended the orientation

The event began with a welcome address by the TechCom co-ordinators, following which Prof. (Dr.) Namita Gupta, HOD, CSE addressed the gathering and allayed the apprehensions of the newcomers. The audience was then briefed about the history of TechCom and the work done in recent years to promote learning and coding culture in the college, including the flagship national hackathon Hack-with-MAIT and the TechCom alumni who had excelled in their respective paths.

The highlight of the event was the Q&A session, where the teachers and student coordinators discussed various aspects of college life and gave the freshman some valuable tips on writing their first code, working as a software developer, and entrepreneurship. Finally, the audience chatted with Nitin Mittal, the President of TechCom who shared his experience over the course of four years before the event was adjourned after a final address
