Day 1 of Two-Week Faculty Development Program cum Workshop organised by Department of CSE & IT, MAIT in association with IEEE ComSoc Delhi Chapter Highlights.

The day is started with an inauguration session followed by a wonderful and highly appreciated talk by Prof. Manu Malek. More than 200 participants attended the sessions.

Inauguration ceremony have been held in the presence of the esteemed dignitaries

A wonderful and highly appreciated talk on ‘Internet of Things: Applications, Enabler, Security’ by Prof. Manu Malek, Alcatel-Lucent Bell Labs and Stevens Institute of Technology (ret.), New Jersey, USA and Editor-in-Chief Computer & Electrical Engineering Elsevier.

Day 2 (17th August 2021) of Two-Week Faculty Development Program cum Workshop have been started with the talk of Dr-Ashish Khanna, Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Technology, Delhi.

His talk is focused on Internet of Things: A Multidisciplinary Approach; a wonderful talk and he shared in-depth information.

Then we have a nice and informative session by Prof Abhishek Swaroop, Bhagwan Parshuram Institute of Technology, his talk focusses on use of IoT Techniques in Agriculture; the selection of topic is timely and appropriate. All the participants are really enjoyed his session.

The last talk by Prof Giancarlo Fortino, University of Calabria, Italy on Pushing Intelligence to the edge of IoT, a very nice session and very informative talk; he covers a new paradigm enabling next- generation smart systems.

I would like to thank all the speakers who have given their precious time to us in spite of their busy schedule.

 

Day 3 (18th August 2021) of Two-Week Faculty Development Program have been started with the talk of my friend cum brother Dr. Utku Köse, Suleyman Demirel University, Turkey on Digital Twin and Internet of Health Things. Very nice and informative session by him.

The second talk by Dr. Ali Kashif Bashir, Manchester Metropolitan University, United Kingdom shares his knowledge on Role of IoT in Shaping the Future. His presentation includes the IoT tools & techniques which can be used for shaping our future. The session is very informative and all the participants enjoyed his session and they have asked a lot of questions from him.

Finally, I (Deepak Gupta) on behalf of IEEE ComSoc Delhi Chapter (as a Treasurer of ExeCom - IEEE ComSoc Delhi Chapter) informs the benefits for becoming IEEE ComSoc member and encourage the students and other participants to join IEEE Communication Society.

Day 4 of Two-Week Faculty Development Program cum Workshop have been started with a wonderful talk on “The role of Deep-Reinforcement Learning and Blockchain Framework for IoT Task Scheduling in Healthcare Workflows” by Dr. Mazin AL-Shujeary, University of Anbar.

Next, we have a talk by Prof. Arumugam Nallanathan (FIEEE, FIET), Queen Mary University of London

Mile End Road, London, E1 4NS, United Kingdom on the topic “Machine Learning in Cellular IoT Networks”. He covers mathematical modelling related to the IoT, mIoT optimization. It is really a nice and knowledgeable session by him and all the participants are benefitted with his talk.

At last, we have a interactive talk by Dr. Gautam Srivastava, Associate Professor, Brandon University, Canada on “Blockchain Technology for EMR and the Internet of Medical Things”. It is a very interesting talk and all the participants are listening and interacting with him. His talk is not like a speaker but as a knowledgeable teacher who teaches his students by giving the simple examples so that they could relate it and have more understanding of the concept. A very nice session by him.

Day 5 (20th August 2021) of Two-Week Faculty Development Program cum Workshop have been started with a wonderful talk on ‘Security and Privacy in Supply Chain Management’ by my dear friend Dr. Sarada PG from Old Dominion University, USA. The session is very well delivered.

Next talk by the IEEE ComSoc Distinguished Speaker Dr. Shahid Mumtaz, Senior Research Scientist and Technical Manager at Instituto de Telecomunicações Aveiro, Portugal. He shared his knowledge on ‘6G: Vision, Requirements, Technical Challenges, Standardization & Implementations’ with the participants. The participants really enjoyed his talk and hope they will be benefited as the talk is on the next generation network - 6G.

Day 6 (21st August 2021) of Two-Week Faculty Development Program cum Workshop have been started with the talk by Dr. Ambarish Mohapatra, Silicon Institute of Technology, Bhubaneswar, India on ‘IoT and Industry IoT: The future Technologies’. He shares a lots of case studies of his research work with the participants. A very knowledgeable session by him.

Next, we have a talk by Prof. Danda B. Rawat, Howard University, Washington, DC, USA on the topic ‘Federated Learning for Internet of Things: Status, Challenges and Perspectives’. He covers every aspect of Federated Learning for Internet of Things. Nice session for the participants who wants to start working in this research area.

Day 7 (23rd August 2021) of Two-Week Faculty Development Program cum Workshop have a wonderful session by Dr. K.C. Tripathi, Department of Information Technology, Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Technology. He shares his knowledge on Internet of Things, Data Science along with hands on session. All the participants have enjoyed his session.

Day 8 (24th August 2021) of Two-Week Faculty Development Program cum Workshop has been started by the hands-on session on ‘Internet of Things’ by Mr. Umang Kejriwal, Founder and CEO, Apptronix Technologies. His knowledge and hands on session has been enjoyed by all the participants.

Next talk by Prof Anupam Gupta, Chief Technology Officer, BlockApps AI on ‘Bayesian Learning’. The talk is really interesting with a lots of case studies. Hope the participants have learnt a lot by his session. A very nice session by him.

Day 9 of Two-Week Faculty Development Program cum Workshop organized by Department of Computer Science & Engineering, Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Technology, Delhi in association with Department of Information Technology, Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Technology and IEEE Communication Society Delhi Chapter.

The day have been started with a wonderful hands-on session on ‘Communication Protocols’ by Mr. Umang Kejriwal, Founder and CEO, Apptronix Technologies. He is able to connect with the participants and give them a handful of hands-on session via online mode. It is amazing.

Next, we have a very nice and enriching talk by Prof. Y.N. Singh, Electrical Engineering Department, Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur. He spoke on ‘Peer to Peer Networks for Internet of Things’. Hope all the participants have gained a lot of things about P2P for IoT by his way of presentation, knowledge and experience. Thank you, sir, for giving your precious time to enrich the participants of the FDP cum Workshop.

Day 10 of Two-Week Faculty Development Program cum Workshop organized by Department of Computer Science & Engineering, Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Technology, Delhi in association with Department of Information Technology, Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Technology and IEEE Communication Society Delhi Chapter.

The day have been started with a short briefing about IEEE Communication Society Benefits, Local Chapter Benefits, Promotion of IEEE ComSoc Society Membership Drive by Dr. Nitin Gupta, Representative, Membership Development, IEEE ComSoc Delhi Chapter and Asst Prof., National Institute of Technology Hamirpur.

Next, we have a wonderful session on ‘Securing Opportunistic IoT Networks’ by Prof S K Dhurandher,

Department of Information Technology, Netaji Subhas University of Technology, Delhi. A very enriching talk and he covers all the security aspects of opportunistic IoT Networks. All the participants have enjoyed the session.

Next, we have a session on ‘How to unlock your full potential’ by Ms. Kriti Jindal. We have this session to boost up the participants (physically and mentally) as they are having the technical session since last 10 days by International and National reputed researchers on new technologies related to Internet of Things.  She has an interactive session with the participants and all the participants have enjoyed this session and hope they will now incorporate the suggestion of our speaker and actually unlock their full potential.
