TechCom the official technical society of department of Computer Science & Engineering, MAIT, organized a webinar on “Cyber security and its ethical principles” and “Gaming Contest” on 6th May 2023 on Google Meet. Eminent Speakers for the event were Dr. Ravi Prakash, Associate Professor, KCCEMSR, Mumbai, Head T&P Cell, Mr. Pratap Nair, Assistant Professor, KCCEMSR, Mumbai and Ms. Nilima Patil Assistant Professor, KCCEMSR, Mumbai. There were in total 74 registrations.
The session began with an introduction to the importance of cyber security in our increasingly digital world, and the speakers highlighted the rising threats posed by cybercriminals, including hacking, phishing, and malware attacks. They emphasized the need for individuals and organizations to stay vigilant and take proactive steps to protect their data and networks.
The panel of experts then delved into the different aspects of cyber security, including the types of cyber threats, common vulnerabilities, and the latest trends and technologies in the field. They discussed the role of artificial intelligence, machine learning, and other emerging technologies in enhancing cyber security.
The speakers also shared practical tips and best practices for protecting oneself against cyber attacks, such as using strong passwords, implementing two-factor authentication, and being cautious when opening suspicious emails or clicking on unknown links.
During the Q&A session, the attendees had the opportunity to ask the experts about specific cyber security concerns and seek their advice on how to handle them. The speakers provided insightful answers and useful resources, including recommended tools and websites for staying up to date on the latest cyber security threats.
After the Q and A session there was an innovative game for all attendees which motivated all and tested leadership and concentration qualities at the same time. All the participants enjoyed the whole event with a sense of learning and competing at the same time.

The webinar was an informative and engaging session that brought together experts and enthusiasts to discuss the current state of cyber security and the measures needed to ensure data protection. It was a valuable learning experience for all participants. It highlighted the importance of cyber security in today's digital world and provided practical insights and solutions to help individuals and organizations protect their data and networks.
The efforts of the core TechCom team, Mr. Prakhar Sharma (president, TechCOM) made this event a successful event. The event was headed by Mohammed Khundmeer Siddiq from B.Tech 3rd year CSE dept. and Nawed Ali from 3rd year CSE dept. MAIT.

“Cyber Security”
TechCom the official society of the CSE department, MAIT is organizing a webinar on the topic “Practising Cybersecurity and it's ethical principles” on 6th May 2023 at 4:00 pm. The speakers for the webinar are Dr. Ravi Prakash (Associate Professor in CSE and Head T&P Cell), Mr. Pradeep Nair (Assistant Professors, KC College of Engineering and Management), Ms. Nilima Patil (Assistant Professors, KC College of Engineering and Management).
There will also be an online game at the end of the workshop which will contain questions related to the topics discussed in the webinar. The winner of the game would be getting a prize of Rs 500.
The event will be held on Google Meet. The session is open for all the branches of MAIT with no pre-requisites.
