Deep dive into Git, the first step towards open source

Department of Computer Science and Engineering, MAIT organized a Hands On workshop on “Deep dive into Git, the first step towards open source “ on 21st April, 2023 in CSE Department.The event was designed to introduce students to GIT, a popular version control system, and its importance in contributing to open-source projects.
The speaker were Mr. Sanket Singh and Ms Riya Bansal. The event was coordinated by Mr. Yogesh Sharma and Dr. Sandeep Tayal.

Speaker discussed Git in detail, including its basic concepts such as repositories, branches, and commits. The speaker explained the benefits of using Git, such as collaboration, version control, and backup, and demonstrated how to use Git commands for creating and managing repositories.

Overall, the event was informative and engaging, and the attendees learned a lot about Git and its role in open-source projects. The event will help the attendees in their future endeavors in software development and open-source contributions. The event then concluded with the vote of thanks by Mr. Yogesh Sharma.





Department is organizing a One-day Workshop on “Deep Dive to GIT , the first step towards open source” on 21 April 2023 (Friday) for all students of CSE Department.

Speaker 1: Sanket Singh
Profile: Sanket Singh is currently working as a software engineer 2 at Google. He has previously worked at LinkedIn and Interviewbit as well. He was selected for Google Summer Of Code under Harvard university in 2019. He was selected as a Speaker at PyCon Italy and NDC Melbourne and provided mentorship to thousands of students and working professionals in the past.

Speaker 2: Riya Bansal
Profile: Riya Bansal is a software engineer at Microsoft and an experienced Backend Developer. Prior to Microsoft, Riya has also worked at Flipkart and American Express as well. She has mentored thousands of students in past has received great feedback for her teaching skills. Riya speaks regularly at a lot of international conferences.
