Codechef MAIT Chapter is a coding community that solely emphasizes developing problem-solving and algorithmic skills of students by creating a coding environment and organizing various events and activities under the banner of CodeChef. We believe in building a community of like-minded individuals passionate about upscaling their skills in the technological world!

 

What are Codechef College Chapters?

CodeChef College Chapters are the programming clubs run and maintained by the official Chapter Leaders and mentored by CodeChef. They aim to make learning competitive programming accessible for students across the globe. The mission of CodeChef College Chapters is to build a robust Competitive Programming culture in educational institutions. College Chapters help students become better problem solvers by fostering learning and professional development. We believe every student should be given the proper mentorship and resources to become a better programmer and compete on a global scale.

Events organized By the Codechef MAIT Chapter

WEBINARS : A lot of webinars have been organized by us in association with companies like Coding Blocks, Coding Ninjas with the Industry's best on topics  like DSA, competitive coding any many more . These webinars apart from being insightful also gave participants like 25% off on their courses.

LIVE THE CODE HACKATHON : The Live the Code Hackathon, organised by CodeChef MAIT, CodeChef ADGITM, and CodeChef IIST, was a big success. The three-round hackathon attracted more than 150 teams. The hackathon covered a wide range of issues, from space technology to artificial intelligence. The Live with Code Hackathon began with an orientation on September 23 and ended on October 12 with the final round. Top teams received amazing gifts from the sponsors' Coding ninjas and coding blocks.

 

30 DAYS OF CODE: 30 Days of Code was an event organized by Codechef-MAIT from 15 Nov 2021 to 15 Dec 2021. Its main focus was to brush up on the DSA skills and create consistency among students. The event was in collaboration with Mr Devang Sharma who is currently a Software developer at CISCO. Coding problems were provided every alternate day on the discord server and the participants were required to post the solutions on GitHub.A coding contest was also conducted at the end of the event duration and goodies were also provided to the winners. In all, the event was very successful with great enthusiasm from the participants and amazing reviews.

 

CODEX CODING CONTEST: CODEX - Our chapter's first CodeChef contest was a hit with around 75-80 participants joining in. It was a great experience for everyone and the first-ever contest experience for a few of our participants. It was conducted on Codechef's platform and it presented students with a great opportunity to get comfortable with CP. Healthy competition amongst your peers is the kind of push that helps you upskill easily.

#6Companies30Day initiative: This was an initiative organized in collaboration with Arsh Goyal in the month of Jnuary  2022. It was a 30 day program to revise Data Structue and Algorithms. In the process, students were given referrals, surpises, mentorship and practice problems. The event was a huge success with over 80 students successfully completing the challenge.

Orientation: Codechef Chapter Mait organized its orientation on 5th March 2022 under the 2022 chapter leads. We had Chirag Goyal, A DSA enthusiast and an alumnus as our main speaker. Further we talked about the different teams under Codechef Chapter MAIT,our events and ended with what new things we have planned for the upcoming year and a Q/A section. The event was a grand success with close to 100 participants.
