Workshop on “OPEN SOURCE SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT”

Department of Computer Science and Engineering organized one day workshop on “OPEN SOURCE SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT” in association with Student chapter of Coding Blocks (Campus Blocks) and TechCom Society of CSE department on 25th January 2019 from 10:30am to 1:30pm in Lab 131-132 for CSE students.

The event was attended by 96 students of the CSE Department.

The session was delivered by Mr. Arnav Gupta (Coding Blocks – Founder member and GSoCer) and Mr. Harshit Dwivedi (Former GSoCer, Speaker at DEVOXX Belgium and instructor at Coding Blocks).

The workshop started with an introduction to open source development, followed by its importance in various competitions like Google Summer of Code, Google Hash-Code and Google Kick-start. Discussion on various open source projects developed by them which encouraged students to be part of it. Interactive question and answer session was held throughout the session.
